How fast can you get out for a service call?
For non-emergency calls we usually book within a week, often sooner. For
urgent issues — power out, breaker tripping repeatedly, smell of burning —
call directly and we'll work you in same-day if at all possible.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes for most residential work — panel upgrades, EV chargers, lighting jobs,
service calls under a couple hundred dollars. Larger commercial projects or
jobs that require diagnostic time may have a service-call fee that we'll
quote up front before any work starts.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — licensed in three jurisdictions: City of Poughkeepsie (#42),
Ulster County NY (#436), and the State of North Carolina (#L.32556). Fully
insured with general liability and workers' comp. Happy to share copies of
insurance certificates ahead of any project.
Will the work be inspected?
Anything that requires a permit (panel changes, service upgrades, new circuits
in commercial spaces, most additions) gets pulled and inspected. We coordinate
with the inspector, walk the job with them, and don't close up the work until
they sign off. NEC 2023 compliant on every install.
Can you handle the load calculation for an EV charger or new circuit?
Always. We run a NEC Article 220 load calc on every EV install and any
significant new circuit so you know whether your existing service has the
headroom — and if it doesn't, we'll quote a service upgrade alongside the
charger so there are no mid-project surprises.
Do you offer emergency / after-hours service?
For existing customers and genuine emergencies (no power, sparking, water
hitting a panel), yes — call the main line and you'll either reach us or
get a call back within an hour. Routine after-hours work is generally
scheduled for the next business morning.
What payment methods do you accept?
Check, ACH, and major credit cards. Larger projects are typically structured
as a deposit at start, progress draws if the job is multi-week, and balance
on completion. We send itemized invoices — no envelopes-of-cash, no surprise
line items.
